چکیده
Background/Aim. Phytochemical and pharmacological investigations of essential oils isolated from plant species the genus Seseli have been intensified recently. These long-term use in nutrition traditional medicine treatment various disorders. Volatile secondary metabolites gracile Waldst. & Kit (Apiaceae) not pharmacologically examined so far. The aim conducted research was to assess antiradical, antimicrobial spasmolytic activities S. oil aerial parts plant. Methods. antiradical activity determined using 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging test, broth microdilution method with standard strains Gram (+), (-) bacteria yeast, while evaluated on rat ileum, pre-contracted a high concentration potassium. Results. results showed moderate (SC50 = 78.60 ?g/mL) good (IC50 271.4 nL/mL) oil. In range tested concentrations, minimal inhibitory (MIC) only for strain Escherichia coli (500 ?g/mL). Conclusion. Results obtained this study justify need further studies elucidate exact molecular mechanism underlay effect herb

Phytotoxicity of major constituents of the volatile oil from leaves of Artemisia scoparia Waldst. & Kit.
The phytotoxicity of the three major monoterpene constituents of the essential oil from leaves of Artemisia scoparia Waldst. & Kit. (redstem wormwood) was investigated. GC/GC-MS analysis revealed that the essential oil (yield 0.84%) is a complex mixture containing 19 monoterpenes, 7 sesquiterpenes and 15 other compounds--aliphatic alcohols, ketones, aromatic hydrocarbons and esters. The three m...
متن کاملPharmacognostic Research on Viola Declinata Waldst. Et Kit. (violaceae)
In order to continue our previous studies on some Viola species from Romania, we have analysed for the first time some active principles from aerial parts of V. declinata Waldst. et Kit. We have performed gravimetric methods for saponins and mucilages, and spectrophotometric determinations and HPLC analysis of carotenoids. We established the content in saponins (4.40%), mucilages (10.26%), and ...

A new subspecies Seseli gummiferum Pall. ex Sm. subsp. ilgazense A.Duran, Ö.Çetin & M.Öztürk, subsp. nov. (Apiaceae) is described from Kastamonu province, Turkey. It was collected from the open Pinus sylvestris L. and Abies nordmanniana (Steven) É.Spach. mixed forest in the northern Anatolian region. An endemic apparently confined to the Ilgaz Mountain National Park, the new taxon is closely re...
متن کاملAnti-inflammatory and antinociceptive activity of coumarins from Seseli gummiferum subsp. corymbosum (Apiaceae).
n-Hexane and ethyl acetate extracts as well as coumarin derivatives obtained from the n-hexane extract of the aerial parts of Seseli gummiferum Pall. ex Sm. subsp. corymbosum (Boiss. & Heldr.) P.H. Davis (Apiaceae) were evaluated in vivo for their anti-inflammatory and antinociceptive activities. The n-hexane and ethyl acetate extracts of the species were shown to possess significant inhibitory...
